Vinyasa or Ashtanga Yoga

It is a style of yoga that uses Sun Salutations A and B to link a variety of poses. When we attend a Vinyasa flow class, the poses flow together quickly raising the heart rate. We can imagine we are like dolphins dancing in the waves. The class is offered at intermediate levels. 

 

It is beneficial for people who:

 

  • Are not beginners.

  • Are looking for some cardiovascular activity which raises the heart rate.

  • Are looking for ways to lose weight and tone their body.

  • Want to strengthen the muscles and build and maintain a higher metabolic rate; in other words, those who want to keep their bodies in a state of aliveness to be active in their daily lives.

  • Are athletes.

  • Want to be advanced in yoga and are ready for some poses like headstand, shoulder stand, and handstand.
